Les Remparts Hôtels et Demeures Historiques

We were so comfortable we hated to leave. Le Remparts Hotel is a charming place in the heart of Beaune, with large, well-furnished rooms. The lobby, courtyard, dining room, and little bar were all great. We had a positive stay throughout, and the service was top notch for the price.

We left Hotel Les Remparts feeling thoroughly disappointed, and the staff's indifference made us feel like a nuisance instead of valued guests. Our Junior Suite was on the ground floor beside a busy passage, so people kept walking past and we had to leave the curtains shut for privacy. With little natural light, the room felt claustrophobic. The breakfast area was right outside our room and got busy from 8:00 am, making a quiet morning or a lie-in impossible. We skipped breakfast because the extra €23 seemed excessive. Before going out to eat elsewhere, we asked for a cappuccino and got ignored. After 15 minutes, we had to complain. When we came back, the bed had been made neatly, but nobody had attended to the bathroom. The towels we'd left in the sink for replacement were still there. That lack of care and cleanliness was unacceptable for a hotel of this caliber. There were some positive aspects, but the negatives outweighed them so much that I can't recommend the place.

Charlotte managed to get me a manicure appointment during the busy season, and Arnault helped with all our restaurant bookings and advice. The concierge made us feel at home. We loved our roomy suite, the luxurious hot shower and bed, and the friendly staff. We've stayed in Beaune many times, including at "The best hotel... I won't say the name", but we liked this place more, and it was more reasonably priced.

I loved the charming, very French feel of this hotel. The beds were so comfortable, and there were little Beaune touches everywhere, especially the wine keychain on the room key. This place is fantastic. I'd love to come back.
