Le Clos Marceau

The Monday morning market is right outside the door, and the location, rooms, terrace, and restaurant were all excellent. The owners put in a lot of effort to make your stay pleasant. It’s also a good chance to practise your French. Fantastic in every way.

The generous portions and affordable prices made the meal really satisfying, especially those golden, crispy fries. I had the Jambon and vegetarian burger, and enjoyed both. The burger had a soft, meaty texture without tasting artificial, and the flavour was great. The Jambon was nicely seasoned with a smoky aroma, all from the accommodated barbeque, of course. I’m only talking about the dining experience here. Definitely stop by, and remember to book a day ahead.

The rooms are very spacious, there’s a restaurant on site, and there’s a secure place to store bikes. The owners and staff are super friendly and flexible about requests. We’ll definitely be back. One thing for the owners to look at: the AC needs proper servicing for summer. It takes a really long time to cool the room and keep it at a steady temperature.

We arrived late for lunch and still got a warm welcome. The garden restaurant is cosy, with a food truck made from a Citroën H Van, and the owners were quick and friendly. The Green Egg hamburger had just the right smoky flavour. With fries and a plain salad, it was an ordinary lunch done really well. A very nice place, friendly staff, and a very good burger. Recommended!
