Village Belle Dune Pierre & Vacances

We had a great holiday here with the kids, and the location was really great. Entry to Aqua Club came with the stay, which was great fun. There’s a big main indoor pool with a wave machine every hour and a slide; outside, there’s another main pool with race slides attached, two large separate slides, a bubble pool, and a toddler splash pool. The indoor toddler pool has a lovely seaside theme...

The house was great, but the apartment was noisy because a corporate seminar group partied late. We’d booked both for our extended family for a week. Staff said the site was full and wouldn’t move us somewhere quieter, though it definitely wasn’t full. The receptionist didn’t seem interested. Aside from that, it was a great stay.

We left early because the stay just didn’t meet our expectations. Communication was hard, since only a few staff spoke English, and when staff realised we didn’t speak French, we didn’t feel very welcome. Basic questions often got unclear answers, and it was difficult to find someone to help with tennis or mini golf. Our room felt old and dated, and the village’s unique, Disney-like atmosphere didn’t make up for it. We’d booked as a couple but got two single beds instead of a double. We could push them together, but they kept sliding apart. We ended up sleeping in the living room, which was uncomfortable and left little room for everyday activities. Young couples and people who don’t speak French may want to consider somewhere else.

The view over the golf is great, and the place is very pleasant. The rooms weren’t very clean when we arrived, though, and with small children you need a car to get to the beach or even the swimming pool. It’s cold, especially coming out of the pool. I’d recommend trying the place once.
