Le Château du Bost

A real summer restaurant, with high-quality food and friendly service. The dishes were stunning and affordable. At 28 euros, the lunch menu was well worth it. It should have at least one Michelin star.

The bathroom tucked into one of the chateau towers was quirky, to put it politely. Still, the room was spacious and the mattress comfortable. What really sets this small chateau hotel apart is its excellent restaurant. We had a wonderful dinner on the terrace, with food and drinks of the highest quality and beautifully presented. Recommended.

The room and neighborhood were really quiet, with no road noise at all, and there were lots of ducks in the moat, which made for a more or less medieval setting. They were also very helpful with washing some clothes. The restaurant is excellent and, I think, probably Paris quality for the variety, style and range of dishes. The cheese cart was especially wow. It was a real dining experience for me. If you can’t make it far enough north to Paris, definitely try this restaurant, even if you’re not staying here.

For 90 euros per person, we had mise en bouche, an entree, the main course, cheese and dessert, with wines or champagne for almost every course. The servers kept good etiquette without making anyone feel looked down on, so everyone would feel welcome. The food was unbelievably good for the price: tender meats, different flavours balanced beautifully, and fantastic wines and champagnes. We went to the restaurant and had an out-of-this-world experience.
