A weekend that felt like a dream.

We spent our honeymoon weekend here, and it turned into a really upsetting stay. I’d contacted the receptionist several times before we arrived to arrange a massage and got no reply until just an hour beforehand. She couldn’t book it, then said we were 15 minutes late for the appointment and refused to give us the treatment. When we complained, she threatened to cancel our reservation. We tried to calm things down, but spent the night with no heating and no help, including when we needed the blinds closed. After we left, she kept messaging us for the next two days to defend how she’d acted. A few days later we found out we’d still been charged €150 for the massage. We couldn’t reach any agreement. My advice is to go elsewhere and save your money and your stay.

We went back to this magnificent manor because our first stay had been perfect. The owners are kind and attentive, and the gentleman’s lovely piano playing adds to the feeling of stepping back in time and getting away from it all. There’s no scripted, standardized welcome, which suits me. You can feel how much the people there love their manor, and we stayed with a lot of respect for it. Thank you for those lovely moments.

The welcome was really warm, which made the gaps in our €215 “Sweetness Duo” package all the more disappointing. We were meant to have a private sauna, hammam and jet shower session, then a back massage and facial, with champagne and sweets. Instead, there was just a carafe of water and no sweets, and the jet shower wasn’t working. The massages were completely different from each other too. For the price, we didn’t feel we got what was promised.
