The owner made us feel very welcome. It’s a peaceful spot in beautiful surroundings, and the price is affordable. If you want a break from the noise and rush of the city, it’s worth turning off the main road and driving a few kilometers to get here.

A lovely place.
In 2023, Dan gave us a terrible welcome when we arrived with a Smartbox voucher. He’s English, and at 7 pm he practically threw us out, even though we still had 600 km to travel. We were 80 years old and had to find a hotel for the night. He also made unpleasant remarks, suggesting we should have stayed home if we couldn’t afford to pay and shouldn’t use discounted rates that made him no profit. He seems very moody and doesn’t accept feedback or comments. I don’t think he should be in this line of work. Is Hotel Le Donjon the same place as Les Remparts in Benevent l'Abbaye, Creuse, with just a different name at the same address?
The accommodation doesn't open until 4:00 PM, but I only found that out after arriving a little early. I couldn't reach the owner in time, and when I saw the door open, I went in to check whether anyone was there. That was a mistake. The employee told me, quite clearly and not very politely, to go back outside. It would have helped to know the opening time during my first attempt to get in touch, or to see it in MiamMiamDoDo.
