The house and grounds are lovely, but our two nights in August 2018 didn’t feel much like a bed and breakfast. The owner had recently had a child, but she didn’t show us to our room or give us a tour, and offered no tips about the area. When we asked about markets and restaurants nearby, she said, “I don’t know, I don’t go out.” We felt like a bother whenever we asked for anything. Her husband, whom we saw less often, seemed much more approachable. Breakfast was good, though nothing special, and the jam may have been homemade. At checkout, the owner took our payment without asking how the stay had gone. It gave us the impression she didn’t want to hear our answer. For the service we received, the price felt far too high.

That garden is stunning, and our room, Espan, was lovely and quiet. We had a wonderful weekend, with incredible breakfasts and owners who were polite, friendly, and welcoming throughout. Their two children were very quiet too, even the baby, who was cuddly and funny.

I’m still waiting for the deposit to be refunded, even though we agreed on it after changing our reservation and transferring it to a friend. It was paid on April 8th, and two months later there’s still nothing. I’ve tried reaching the owners by email, text, and phone more than once, with no reply. When it’s time to book, they follow up readily and want payment before you arrive. They seem much keener to collect a deposit than to answer afterward. Be careful if your plans might change. I still hope this message gets things moving.

We mostly came to unwind, and this family home was just right for that. We also explored the region and loved it. The place is superb, the hosts are so pleasant, and we felt right at home. An idyllic holiday, and we’ll definitely return. Thank you!
