Manoir de Plaisance

We stayed three nights at Manoir de Plaisance and loved every minute. The grounds and pool are beautiful, with chickens wandering around, peacocks greeting you in the car park, and a friendly black cat. The hosts made us feel lucky to be there, and the food was great too. They did a wonderful job making our holiday unforgettable. We’d definitely come back.

The breakfasts were generous and delicious, and dinner was worthy of a Michelin star. We even had homemade ice cream by the salt-water pool. With the soft lawn, tall trees and butterfly meadow, the grounds feel like a peaceful oasis, and the understated luxury really works. The rooms are elegant, with comfortable beds and beautiful views. Ben and Michael make everything look effortless, though their attention to detail is impressive. We’ve just returned from six magical nights at Manoir de Plaisance. I can’t recommend it enough. Ben and Michael made our visit memorable with their warm hospitality, careful attention to detail, and delicious dinners and breakfasts. We loved our three nights in this charming, stylishly furnished place. It’s romantic and peaceful, conveniently close to La Rochelle and Ile De Rey, yet away from the tourist crowds. We chose to spend more time at the hotel than out exploring once we saw the garden and pool, though there’s plenty to do in the surrounding area too. The house is beautiful, and the team is really nice and approachable. Don’t miss dinner. It’s an amazing place to stay in the French countryside, and I highly recommend it.
