The rooms were spotless and really comfortable, and the homemade jam and brioche were some of the best things we’ve ever eaten. They were also so lovely and accommodating with our two little boys. We’re already hoping to come back. Couldn’t recommend this place more.

The bread is every bit as good as it looks in the photos, with different loaves at each meal, and the restaurant took good care of vegetarians too. The food was amazing. You arrive along a beautiful avenue to a stunning château, though guests sleep and dine in thoughtfully converted barns and stables rather than in the château itself.

Breakfast gave us a taste of what we missed: fresh orange juice, homemade bread and preserves, plus eggs and other savory options, and really good coffee. The restaurant was closed on Monday again, unfortunately. We had a spacious room with a big couch and a comfortable bed, and the approach to the house is amazing. We first stopped here last year on the way back to Calais. It was such an easy, comfortable overnight stop that we booked it again this year. Thanks, Dina. Hope to see you next year.

I have coeliac disease and had struggled to find suitable food at some rural French restaurants, even after contacting them in advance. The Rémi team looked after me incredibly well, with several gluten-free choices across the courses on their Michelin-recommended menu and gluten-free bread too. The food and wine were outstanding, and felt connected to the lovely walled kitchen garden and the woods around it. Sebastian, his lovely wife, and the whole team made it a phenomenal experience. We stayed for dinner on our last night after a road trip around Champagne and Burgundy, before heading back to London via LeShuttle. It’s worth going out of your way for, even if you’re not travelling via Calais. We’re already considering another visit in a couple of months.

Dinner was excellent, with vegetables grown on site and cooked just right. Breakfast was heavenly too, especially the homemade jams and bread. Our accommodation had two floors, a huge round bath, and a vaulted bedroom ceiling. A lovely place to stay, definitely worth a visit.
