La Maison de Famille

The house was lovely, with regional stonework, tasteful decor, and a cool feel even in summer. Being surrounded by fields made it wonderfully quiet, while shops were still just a 5-minute drive away. The pool was the biggest letdown. Its heating was broken and stayed unrepaired all week, and although someone came by, it wasn't cleaned, so it was very dirty by the end. We couldn't enjoy it as much as we'd hoped. There was also a strong tobacco smell throughout the house, and the garden wasn't enclosed on the side facing the garden, pool, and terrace, which opens onto the fields. No television in the living room, either. Week of July 4-11, 2020
