We left the table disappointed and still hungry, and the waiter’s smile couldn’t change that. It’s a shame, because there’s a new owner who’s young and friendly, a new concept, and a new menu. On Friday it was crêpe night, but the aperitif was off to a rough start: no Moritos cocktail because they were out of ingredients, and only one of the two Grimbergen beers was available. The plates weren’t appealing either. The “Complete Crepe,” which felt completely empty, had one slice of cheap shoulder ham and an egg yolk in the middle for just over €8. The Andouille/Camembert crêpe cost €11 for 1 1/2 slices of Guéméné Andouille sausage and two slices of Camembert, which felt rather light. I’d recommend the more filling “Campagnarde” instead, with a slice of country ham and slices of Reblochon cheese for €11. The dessert crêpes were pleasant and generous, with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and apples with salted caramel for €5.
