Hotel Belfort Bessoncourt

The price was really good, and having a big gas station and market across the street was handy. We’d been driving all day and only needed somewhere to sleep, so the place did the job. The rooms smelled strongly of cigarettes, though. I guess you get what you pay for.

The breakfast had lots of options, the floors, bedding, and bathroom were clean, and the employees were friendly and helpful. It’s cheap, too. But I wouldn’t recommend staying more than one night, and definitely wouldn’t bring a family here. It might be enough if you just need a night’s stay alone or with your partner. The room smelled awful, apparently from the walls, even with the window open. It was a bit shabby, especially the door and windows, and there was no ventilation, not even in the bathroom. Other guests made a lot of noise in the evening, with banging doors and loud sounds. I’m pretty sure some women were there to do some “business.”

We were two girls arriving by car late at night. A group of guys were drinking in the parking lot and started harassing us as we tried to get to our rooms. We called for reception, but no one was there overnight. We were scared and didn’t feel safe, so we went back to the car, locked the doors, and looked for somewhere else to stay. Afterward, I contacted the hotel several times and explained everything in detail. They showed no understanding and wouldn’t refund us, even though we never used the room. You shouldn’t have to pay for a service you didn’t receive, especially when the place doesn’t feel safe. This was the worst accommodation we’ve ever stayed at. We’ll never book with this hotel group again.

There was a lot of noise, and they were doing renovation work on Saturday and Sunday, too. The place was old and dirty, and nothing worked. No air conditioning, nothing.
