Coeur de Souillac

The staff were really friendly, and the facilities were good.

We felt right at home under the roof of this lovely old house. It's a simple place to stay, but very cozy, with wonderfully creaky beams and a central spot in Souillac. The host was kind, and breakfast was delicious.

The creaky wooden floor didn't bother us at all; it just felt like part of an old house's charm. Breakfast was included and kept us going all morning, with freshly brewed coffee, warm croissants, bread, butter and homemade jams. There was also yogurt, juice, fresh oranges and delicious self-service muesli. The host could also make tea, herbal tea or hot chocolate. We arrived on December 4th and weren't sure about the gray weather, but the guesthouse's warm welcome soon put me at ease. We stayed as two people in a spotless attic room on the third floor. The old-fashioned double bed was very comfortable, and there was a single bed at the other end. The heating was already on, and mugs, a kettle, instant coffee and assorted teas and herbal infusions were waiting for us. The fairly spacious private bathroom felt comfortable and private, with clean towels, a heated towel rail, soap and shower gel. Wi-Fi is available too.

The host was lovely, and our romantic room under the eaves was beautiful. It's a great place to stay, full of old-world charm in a quiet town. We'd love to return.
