Clubhouse Gîtes

We were welcomed with wine and sweets, and there was plenty to keep the kids busy, both indoors and out in the garden. It’s a sweet countryside setting, with a friendly host and lots of thoughtful touches. One thing to plan for: the French-style bathroom has the toilet and shower separated by a wall, leaving very little room to shut the door or maneuver a wheelchair. If that applies to you, check the measurements with the host before you arrive. I’d be happy to stay again.

The countryside around the Gitê is what we love most. We’ve brought groups of nine here on three occasions over five years, with different physical needs, and it’s been a great base in a lovely location. Lawrence and Helen are warm, welcoming, and accommodating. In warm weather, we enjoyed grilling outside and sharing meals in the cafeteria-style games and dining room. The rooms are comfortable, and the showers are accessible. Thanks again, L&H!

We filled all three chalets over Easter weekend, ten adults and three children, and still had room to spare. There was even some sunshine on our second-to-last day, so we got to enjoy the garden and its outdoor equipment. The shared games room has a pool table, table football, seating, and a jukebox. Each chalet is joined under one roof, but has its own kitchen, bathroom, living room, and dining area, which made the place feel like a home away from home. The kitchens were stocked with everything from pots and pans to coffee and tin foil. The hosts were wonderful and did all they could to make us comfortable. It’s a rural spot, around 45 minutes from Calais, with a few local places and a couple of restaurants a short drive away. The nearest main town is about 15 minutes away and has bars and a huge grocery store for stocking up. I’d definitely recommend it as a place to stay while exploring this part of France, and hope to return in the coming years.

We had a really good time here and will definitely come back. The place was lovely and clean, the owners were friendly, and the service was good. There’s a games room with a pool table, and they left us chocolate and wine.
