The Saint-Julien feels like a home away from home, and I always look forward to returning. Everyone on the Saint-Julien team is kind, thoughtful and welcoming. I especially enjoy their morning breakfast before heading out to explore Basque Country. Thank you all for your generous spirit and another lovely stay.

I loved the old villa and its renovation, especially the high ceilings, real wood floor and comfortable bed. The bathroom had an excellent shower, and the hotel sits in a quiet part of town. The staff were very friendly and breakfast was excellent. I was also glad to get proper coffee instead of capsules. The parking is limited in a way that suits the age of the building, so I used a regular car park within walking distance. I've visited the area about a dozen times, and this was a very nice hotel experience. I'll definitely return.

We paid an extra €20 a night for the on-site parking, which came in handy. The staff were very friendly and the hotel is centrally located. Breakfast was excellent: eggs cooked how you like them, croissants, pain au chocolat, bread, jam, ham, a couple of cheeses, coffee, hot chocolate and different juices. They also had croissants and pain au chocolat in the foyer during the day, a nice touch.

It was an easy 4 to 5 minute walk to the shops and restaurants, and we only wished we could have stayed longer. The room was delightful and had air conditioning, which is rare in Europe. There was no small fridge, but that didn't really bother us. We loved the welcome note. There is a lift and the staircase is wide. The staff speak English very well, and were patient with my clumsy French. They were helpful with information, maps and recommendations.

We enjoyed having a nightcap at the bar and restaurant on site, and for once there wasn't a smoker around us. This is a quiet little inn that suits a few days of rest, with French, homey decor. The city is clean and easy to explore on foot. There was a mix-up between ctrip and the hotel, so we got a street-level room without the jacuzzi bath and ocean view we had booked. The shower tray sits above the floor, which was wet after we finished.
