Hotel Itsas Mendia

Loved this place!

Breakfast was good, and you can eat outside with a mountain view. Still, the toasted bread was a day old, which was a shame. The hotel itself is a pleasant little place, though much more expensive than others in its category. Keep an eye on the rates: we paid €250 for a non-refundable room, then saw it offered for €205 a few days before we arrived. The hotelier said they use the same pricing policy as airlines, so there would be no discount.

The hotel's pleasant breakfast room opens onto large terraces, and the small buffet has enough sweet and savory choices. The morning staff are especially attentive. You're close to the village square, shops, bars, restaurants, and the beach. Rooms are small but have good beds, modern bathrooms, and refrigerators, with daily housekeeping keeping them very clean. I'd choose a room at the back facing the mountains. There's a public parking lot below, but those rooms are well soundproofed and peaceful. The hotel is small and ideally located, with private parking, though its entrance is very narrow and larger vehicles such as SUVs may scrape their rims. Staff are friendly and professional, and reception is welcoming. It describes itself as four-star, but to me it feels like three stars at most. A nice place to visit and recommend.

We had a wonderful stay in this warm, welcoming hotel. The pool is incredible, and breakfast is generous and delicious on the terrace overlooking La Rhune mountain. Its location is ideal, and the rooms are spacious with high-quality beds.
