We arrived by bicycle on the afternoon of Sunday, August 11th, my wife, our two children aged 6 and 10, and me. We had booked and paid for two rooms, and Booking.com had confirmed the reservation, but we weren’t allowed to stay in either room. The owner said she had canceled because one extra person was in our party, but never showed us any cancellation document. We even agreed that one of the adults would leave so at least my wife and children could sleep. It was August, everything was booked, and it was late. The situation was hard on us, especially the children. Eventually we managed to reserve a hotel room and slept there in the early hours, after four hours. I want to be clear that both rooms were paid for and the booking was confirmed. I’m waiting to contact Booking.com and take the appropriate action. Beyond the injustice, I’ve never met someone with so little empathy and humanity.
