San Damiano Camping-Bungalows

The lake across the road looked lovely for a walk or run, and we made good use of the sandy campsite beach and pool. The water was clean, the beach entry was easy, and the pool was pleasantly warm, with a depth of about 1.6 metres and enough room to swim. We stayed just one night, arriving at 5 pm on 24.8. Check-in was easy, and the €300 mobile-home deposit paid by card came back to the card the following evening. Our three-bedroom unit was beside the pool and evening entertainment. Karaoke was fun, and finished by 11 pm. The home was standard but had working air conditioning; Wi-Fi dropped out often. Parking right outside was easy. The beach was about 150 metres away, and the Carrefour Express had the basics, though prices were high and it was a bit of a walk. We checked out at 10 am but stayed at the beach and pool until 4 pm.

There’s a great pool, a well-stocked market with pretty much anything you need, and a good playground for kids. You can choose from different kinds of pitches, and there’s also a nice beach café and restaurant. My one gripe is the bathrooms, which feel too enclosed and could use more air. The water pipes have annoying sensors.

We skipped the pool because the beach was plenty for us. The pitches are roomy and shaded, and we really enjoyed the gym, restaurant and café. Staff were friendly, and the modern washrooms stayed clean, with people cleaning throughout the day. We had a great time here!

There’s a good range of pitches for vans and caravans, and the beach works for all ages. The on-site supermarket is big enough that we didn’t need to leave the campsite. Washrooms are new and kept clean, and there’s a new playground along with other facilities. Digital check-in was quick. It comes pretty close to a five-star campsite.
