The nearest bakery is about a half-hour walk, though there’s a small Carrefour close by. We only stayed a couple of days, and the place was clean and practical for our group of four and two dogs, if a little cosy. It’s very close to the beach, and the kids enjoyed the pool. A good base for exploring the north coast.

Everyone was welcoming and friendly. Even when we were just walking past, people would say “bonjour.” My wife and kids really enjoyed the stay, and we’ll definitely come again. It’s a bit like a Butlins or Center Parcs, with private access to the beach.

These little villas are cute and just west of Calais. The food leaned a bit heavily on fish, though that’s to be expected by the ocean.
