The owner has a cave of his own, so he can talk in depth about the region’s wines, and he speaks English quite well. Bring cash, though, since there’s no ATM in town. This lovely B&B is just outside Beaune. We enjoyed sitting on the terrace with the peacocks and catching the breeze.

The wine cave was worth waiting for, and the place isn’t expensive. Really lovely spot and awesome hosts! Thanks again, we’ll be back soon. Highly recommend.

We stayed in room #1, a small annex that gave us some separation from the other guest rooms. It had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The mezzanine bedroom did get quite hot despite the air conditioning, but that’s one little gripe from us, typical French people who tend to complain :). The house is magnificent, with a big outdoor area to relax in. We also enjoyed the fun, interactive Burgundy wine course and the Grand Cru tasting on-site. Bertrand’s passion for the region comes through every day. We felt right at home, thanks to Bertrand’s excellent welcome and all the local tips he shared. That included the great bakery across the street and the restaurant Le Berger du Temps. L'Escale de Jules et Lily is just a few minutes from Beaune and a true gem. We highly recommend it, and look forward to coming back with friends. Clémence & Romain
