We slept like logs in the quiet town, and the rooms were spacious, beautifully decorated, cozy, and peaceful. Jean-Philippe gave us a warm, attentive welcome at L'Escarboucle in Bligny-sur-Ouche, where we spent two nights as a wedding gift. The next morning brought a generous breakfast with homemade jams and pastries from the nearby bakery. It also makes a great base for exploring Burgundy, from Beaune and Dijon to Fontevraud and the surrounding villages. We had a wonderful time in Burgundy thanks to Jean-Philippe and our family! ❤️

He even brought our luggage upstairs, helped us find a restaurant, and looked up ideas for a day in Dijon when rain changed our plans. The host went out of his way for us. The hospitality was very warm, quite literally: while we were out, he turned up the heat in our bedroom and bathroom because it was a bit chilly. No effort seemed too much.

The garden is a lovely extra, bucolic and very soothing. The place is peaceful and tastefully decorated, with spacious rooms and elegant decor. We had a perfect welcome and an excellent breakfast.
