The host lady clearly puts a lot of effort into the whole place. It’s stylish and tasteful, with a lovely atmosphere and a real sense of history. Staying there gave me a taste of traditional french bourgeois life.

We were welcomed warmly, and our beautiful, cozy room opened onto a shared outdoor courtyard that we really enjoyed. The hotel is charming and right in the center of Blois, across from the Cathédrale Saint-Louis with its iris and rose gardens. Restaurants and bars are just downhill, and there’s a parking lot across the street. Breakfast was a highlight: generous and delicious, with house-made yogurt and jams, local bread and cheeses, fresh orange juice, and more. I highly recommend it.

We watched the sun rise behind the cathedral, with hot air balloons drifting past its spire. If you’re lucky enough to get the upper room, there’s a lovely view over the city and the cathedral from this beautiful place on the square. Breakfast was delicious, and the table was the prettiest we’ve seen. Our hostess was wonderful and helped us work through a difficult itinerary.

It felt much more personal and nicer than a hotel. The room was cozy and furnished nicely, the bed was comfortable, and breakfast was very good. The hostess did her best to make our stay as pleasant as she could.
