Chateau de Blomac

The owners made us feel like family, sharing the chateau’s story and offering suggestions for places to eat and visit nearby. We were welcomed warmly on arrival, shown our room, offered an upgrade, and given an explanation of the property. Our elegant, picture-perfect room was clean and looked out over the backyard, pool, and little lake. Breakfast the next morning was delicious, with a personal touch and an omelette or eggs made to order. Everything felt well looked after, and we’ll make a point of staying here again next time we visit southern France.

The pool was my favourite spot on the estate, especially since it has no chlorine and was much better for my skin. There’s also a small bar there with wine, beer, and light snacks. I had dinner at the chateau several nights, and it was wonderful: fresh, good-quality food, nicely presented, with a divine choice of wines. The service throughout was kind, professional, thoughtful, and always helpful. I spent a lovely few days here. The chateau is beautiful and very well maintained, as are the park, gardens, and pleasure grounds. I’d highly recommend it and would definitely stay again. Thanks for everything.

We came with a large group for our daughter’s wedding, and everything went perfectly. We have very happy memories of our visit. The grounds offered lovely spots for each part of the day: the ceremony, drinks and canapés beneath the trees, and dinner on the terrace. The food was great throughout. The chateau and gardens are stunning, with inviting space around the pool and plenty of shady places to sit, including a children’s play area. The rooms were comfortable and well appointed, and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. A wonderful place in every respect.

The final bill still listed 60 people, even though we had changed our event group to 45 weeks beforehand. When we queried the per-person bar and event charges, the owners sent a revised bill with fewer people but higher per-person charges. That left a bad taste after our September 2023 event at Chateau Blomac for people travelling along the Canal de Midi. Beforehand, the owner had already said the catering charge could barely be reduced, despite the notice and the caterer not yet having bought the event supplies. Since it was a buffet, staffing wasn’t a cost factor either. We made repeated polite attempts to find a fair solution, but the owner was obstinate and refused reasonable adjustments. I found the billing dishonourable, with prices subject to change and manipulation, and because of these financial shenanigans, I wouldn’t hold an event with this person again.
