ibis budget Laval

Being able to bring my dog was the main reason I picked this hotel, and that went smoothly. The price was very reasonable, at least in the off-season, so I was happy with the choice. I stayed two nights to visit nearby places. Check-in from 12 was handy, and the self check-in was easy to work out, which suited me since I’m not confident speaking French. It got a little noisy in the evening and early morning, with children running through the corridors, though there isn’t much the hotel can do about that.

The breakfast was great and exceptionally good value. I arrived very late, expecting reception to be closed, but got a lovely welcome instead.

The beds were small and very firm, and the walls were so thin I could hear several conversations and TVs or radios. My ground-floor window had no curtain. There was an outside shutter, but it stuck and needed coaxing to work. The location is convenient and easy to find beside a busy road, though I had concerns about the car park’s security and the area in general. Reception is only open at certain times, so unless you book through the All app and get a code, you can’t get in outside those hours. That’s unpleasant after a long motorbike ride, especially in very hot or very wet weather. I won’t stay there again.

The room was very clean, and the staff on site were friendly and helpful. For a one-night stay, it was just right for us. The emails, instructions, and other information were excellent. No complaints. Thank you.
