Hotel Melaine

The staff were great and handled the restaurant problem well. Service was slow because of kitchen issues, and my order was incomplete, but they acknowledged it and compensated me, which I appreciated. The rooms were comfortable, and the location was quiet, with a large parking area and a bar and restaurant. Use of the Hammam and sauna was included. We skipped the buffet breakfast at €20 per person and ate elsewhere. Great value overall, and highly recommended.

The staff were super attentive. Our room was warm, and there’s no A/C, so they brought us a fan and then swapped it for a quieter tower fan. Guests included couples, families, and groups of friends on girls’ weekends away. I’d judge this place more by its spa, food, and service than by the rooms, with a European rather than North American perspective.

The generous breakfast uses local products, and the staff are very friendly and polite. The Wi-Fi worked well throughout the property, and the pool and spa were clean and beautiful. We stayed for more than a week and noticed the sheets weren’t changed. Our evening meal at the restaurant was very elegant, so I wouldn’t recommend it for picky eaters. The room has no air conditioning. During the first few very hot days, we had to sleep with the window open, and insects came in because there’s no fly screen. I hope they take these points as opportunities to improve rather than as criticism.

Every staff member gave brilliant service, and it’s a very nice hotel. The room was quite small and cramped, especially with a baby, and the hot weather made the lack of A/C a real issue. It was very, very warm.
