There’s a huge mix of little restaurants, with good beer and wine and food from all over. You can get typical French dishes, Pintxos, Vietnamese Bao, African cooking, Iguazu and other South American specialties, Tajik food, and plenty more. The food is fresh and comes from local agriculture.

There was plenty more to explore, but I headed straight for seafood at Chez Jean-Mi, so I didn’t see the whole market. It has a great mix of shops, vendors and restaurants, and is well worth visiting in Bordeaux. We’ll certainly come back next time!

The shopkeepers were kind and patient when explaining things. We enjoyed the truffle cheese and Bleu d'Auvergne from the cheese stall by the entrance, the one with the green signboard. A nice market to visit.

Known as Bordeaux’s belly, this market is a great place for everyday fresh produce or a bite from one of the stalls. There’s mussels, oysters, cheese and bread, with French, Italian, Greek, Spanish and other choices. A must-see, must-visit!

A good spot for tasty treats, with lots of fresh and prepared food to choose from. It was fairly quiet on a weekday, while the weekend brings more people and more open stalls. There’s something for everyone. Highly recommend 🇨🇦
