Le Palais Gallien Hôtel & Spa

Really enjoyed our stay. The staff were kind and helpful, and went above and beyond. Breakfast was great, as were the location and the clean, lovely pool and spa area. Highly recommended.

The pool area is lovely, and our room was beautiful. It’s about a 10-minute walk into downtown Bordeaux. The staff were really friendly and had plenty of recommendations. I’d happily recommend this boutique hotel.

The breakfast buffet had lots of variety, and dinner at the restaurant was excellent, with very good food, lovely rooms, and professional service. Those were the highlights of our New Year’s Eve 2025 stay at Le Palais Gallien, which otherwise left us with mixed feelings. It presents itself as a five-star hotel, but didn’t feel up to that standard. Our room was spacious and elegantly furnished, as pictured, but the wardrobe was so small that we had to keep our clothes in suitcases on the floor. The room wasn’t warm enough on the first night, and there were no extra heaters. We could also hear guests returning late because the doors aren’t soundproof. The spa seemed neglected. The sauna door wouldn’t close because its inside handle was missing, construction materials were piled in the hammam, dirty dishes had been left around, and the small indoor pool was cold. The floor also looked dirty. Elsewhere, the public areas felt worn: scooters were parked in the restaurant, and some of the plastic wood carpentry looked shabby. The staff, though, were committed and friendly, and seemed to be trying hard to make up for the hotel’s shortcomings.

We really enjoyed our stay at this boutique hotel. It’s in a quiet spot that’s still very central to Bordeaux’s centre, and the staff were extremely helpful.
