The hotel’s location was good, and it welcomes dogs. Beyond that, we had a bad stay. Our bathroom was dirty and the heating didn’t work. There wasn’t another room available that night, so the receptionist couldn’t move us. She was rude, said it wasn’t her problem that the technician wasn’t there, and offered only an electric heater. We got neither an apology nor compensation. It’s an old hotel with small, dark rooms unless you happen to get one facing outside. We stayed at the regular Ibis, not the budget branch. I still can’t understand how staff could be so rude and unhelpful.

It’s the budget Ibis, so keep expectations low. The room was tiny but cosy, and the bathroom was even smaller, with a toilet, shower, and little sink that splashes water everywhere. Breakfast wasn’t worth bothering with: weak coffee, toast, a croissant, and muesli that tasted like shredded cardboard. The dining room also serves as reception and a corridor.

The staff were really friendly and accommodating, and the location is right in the centre. The rooms were decent. My only reason for not giving five stars was that the air conditioning didn’t work effectively for me. Otherwise, a great hotel.

A handy base for exploring Bordeaux and getting to the rugby stadium. The tram makes it easy to reach both the stade and the airport. The on-site Bistrot and bar had good choices, and the service was helpful.

There were six of us, three couples, plus our two dogs. Check-in was easy and convenient, even though we arrived late in the evening. A very friendly staff member greeted us with a smile and suggested a good Brasserie near the hotel, with clear directions for walking or taking the tram. The rooms were comfortable and a good size.
