The old house has a lot of charm and the location is good. Just be ready for three flights of rough stone stairs, and watch your head if you're 1.80 m (6feet) tall because the ceilings are low. Those stairs and low ceilings could be tough if you have knee arthritis or aren't steady on your feet. I loved the apartment.

The location is the only good thing about this apartment in Bordeaux. I was shocked by how rude the landlady was. A few weeks ago, a friend of mine, a university professor, had her flight cancelled. Madame Le Lay refused to speak with her. Booking.com pressed her, and she then had to admit she had no intention of refunding even part of the full amount my friend had paid in advance, even though RyanAir, not my friend, was at fault for her not getting to Bordeaux. This French lady was not nice or fair at all. Avoid her apartment in Bordeaux!

The interior is fine, but the noise was awful. There were parties going on endlessly during the week, and sleeping was hard. Easily the worst accommodation I've had in a long time.

The apartment is full of character and very well equipped, with a feel like Old Lille, for those who know it, right here in Bordeaux. It's really well located, near Rue Ste Catherine, the Cathedral, and the tram. Once you get used to the bedroom and bathroom being under the eaves, everything's fine.
