L'escapade Bordelaise - Chambres D'hôtes

The hosts were very hospitable, and the place had a homelike feel. We had a lovely stay in a large, quiet room with a really comfortable bed. Just be aware that the bathroom and bedroom are separated by transparent glass, so using the toilet in front of your roommate might feel awkward 😅. There was no TV in our room, which didn't bother us since we spent most of our time out, but there's one in the shared area if you need it. The apartment is on the first floor, and I didn't see a lift, so expect some stairs. There's no parking on site. We used Place des Grandes Hommes, a five-minute walk away, and paid €35 for about 30h. Breakfast was sufficient, and the location is superb and central. We had a very pleasant, comfortable stay.

Our Grand Hommes room had no door between the sleeping area and the bathroom or toilet. The room was spacious and the bed comfortable, and the hosts were friendly. Breakfast was simple, with bread, cereal, jam, butter, and yoghurt. The location is ideal, right in the old city center.

We stayed in the Grand Hommes room, the only one downstairs, reached by a spiral staircase. It felt a little dark and musty. Opening the big windows helped, but mosquitoes came in. Since buildings are directly opposite, open windows also meant less privacy, while closing the black curtains made the room dark. Julien had a device to discourage mosquitoes, though we still had a few. The upstairs rooms we saw were light and bright. Julien is a superb, helpful host who really considers what guests need, and he services the room daily. The place has charm and is very quiet at night. The location is central, with transport and many sights and areas we wanted to visit nearby. Our bed was large and comfortable, and the bathroom spacious. Breakfast included delicious plain croissants, two kinds of bread, jams, three kinds of muesli, yoghurt, juice, tea, and coffee. We could also use the kitchen facilities ourselves day or night.

Our room overlooked the street, but it was very quiet, and the bed was perfect. The room was spacious, the bathroom large, and the welcome friendly. It was very well located in central Bordeaux, near the Grand Hommes parking lot, though there isn't free parking. There was a cigarette smell in our room, probably left by previous guests, since the common areas didn't smell. The shower temperature was a bit sensitive. Breakfast was fine, nothing special, and the owners shared good local recommendations and were easy to talk with. I recommend it.
