The owner, Richard, is a well-known stalwart of the wine trade and brings a warm, convivial touch to the welcome and help, which are both excellent. The bedrooms and bathrooms are finished to an exceptionally high standard in every way, right up there with Europe's finest boutique hotels. It has recently reopened after a thorough upgrade, and suits anyone who likes quiet luxury without big hotel bling.

After more than six years of visiting Bordeaux, we haven't found anywhere better. It's now one of our favorite boutique hotels in the city, with a boutique feel, your own comfortable space, and a location close to town.
