Camping Lou Cabasson

We first stayed at Lou Cabasson in 2022, returned in 2023, and plan to come back next year. The owners took over two years ago and have done a great job, with lots of refurbishment. What really makes the place, though, is the family. They’re always helpful and a pleasure to spend time with. They’ve focused on the things that matter for a good stay: a great pool, excellent service, and amazing food. The restaurant is better than any of the local places we tried. Don’t miss the weekly ‘moules-frites’, the best you’ll ever taste.

The pool is great, and the slides kept the kids busy for quite a while. Cabasson beaches are just 5 or 6 minutes away by car, and Le Lavandou’s beaches are about 10 minutes away. The location is nice, and Bormes Les Mimosas Port is worth checking out for its lovely restaurants. There are only a handful of pitches, with the rest taken up by mobile homes. The facilities are clean and sufficient, though there’s no toilet paper provided. It’s also a pity that bread has to be ordered the day before. You can choose between two kinds of baguette, croissants and pain au chocolat, but I’d rather decide in the morning. The biggest problem came when we had visitors over for a BBQ. They were told to pay €6.00 or leave, and we still don’t know why. Were they expected to use the toilet? They weren’t allowed to use the pool, not even the kids. After an argument, they were allowed to swim as an exception. Come on, French people, be friendlier and more hospitable. Smile and let things slide once in a while instead of trying to squeeze money out of every opportunity!
