The family room was roomy and comfortable, and the themed decor was a lovely touch. It’s a peaceful little place to stay. My son had a great time in the jacuzzi bath, especially since it plays music. Natasha was a terrific host and made sure we had everything, even bringing me a cold beer in the evening.

The food was terrific and fairly priced, and Manual gave us a warm welcome and goodbye. He’s the owner and a passionate chef, and treated us very kindly. We stayed overnight as a stop on our trip, and the rooms were the most spacious and luxurious I’ve ever seen in an Auberge. The Zen room even has a whirlpool. Breakfast would have earned the stay five stars if it weren’t for the small prebaked croissants. Still, I’d highly recommend it.

The shared sitting area was warm and comfortable, with board games, a big TV, a dinner table, and very comfortable chairs. There’s also a nearby pizza place, so you can bring a pizza back and eat in the lovely rest area. Parking is free on the premises. We loved the cozy room and its delicate decor. The bed and bedding were clean, comfy, and high quality. The huge bathroom was spotless, and having the toilet in a separate room from the shower was very convenient for three people. There was a mistake on the booking platform’s description of the triple room’s beds, not an error by Auberge Vauclair. Natasha warned me that the second bed was quite small for an adult and offered us another room with two queen size beds. If there are three adults, that’s the room to book. Natasha was waiting to greet us when we arrived and showed us around. She’s incredibly kind and clearly cares about giving guests the best service she can. She spoke a little English and even used her son as a translator. Everything about this B&B in the charming little town of Bouconville-Vauclair was amazing. I highly recommend it.

A perfect stop on the way to Calais. The rooms, food, and service were all 10/10, and the value for money was incredible. It’s 10 minutes from the A26, then 10 minutes back to the next northern junction.

So thoughtfully arranged, and we had a hugely comfortable stay. :)
