Ferme Auberge L'Ile Sauvage

We spent a night in our motorhome and had a great meal at the restaurant.

We only stopped here during our cycling trip, but it's a great campsite for anyone who enjoys nature and a quiet, simple setup. Fields and canals surround the place. I'd recommend it.

A peaceful, clean stop in a unique setting, with attentive staff and delicious local food. We felt right at home and were delighted with the experience. Thank you for the genuine hospitality. Highly recommended.

The meal was a letdown. The starter was alright, but the chicken was so stringy I left half of it. A little spider landed in my hair while I was eating and crawled onto my plate. And don't order the rosé from Mareuil, it wasn't good, though we still paid for the bottle. The main room was cold and damp, so I kept my jacket on, and the tables weren't very clean. There were cobwebs that could have been cleared and the place could have used a quick sweep. Getting there was already a nuisance. The road was barely wide enough for a car, in poor shape, and branches narrowed it further. The hedge hadn't been trimmed. When we finally reached the "farm inn," it looked nothing like the Google Maps photos, with everything practically overgrown. We had a reservation, so we went in anyway. We often visit farm inns, and they're usually well maintained. I wanted to be positive, but I was really disappointed. I definitely don't recommend this place.
