A la Couronne d'Or

That cordon bleu was generous, full of flavor, and cooked just right. The other dishes at our table were good too, and true to Alsatian cuisine. La Couronne d’Or has the warm, welcoming feel of an authentic Alsatian winstub, and it’s a lovely spot for traditional food. I’d happily recommend it to anyone who enjoys good food and an authentic atmosphere.

I’ve been coming here for years. It’s one of the few Alsatian village restaurants left that still knows how to make people happy. The service is quick, the cooking is excellent, and the prices are very affordable.

The food was the highlight for us: classic French cooking, done solidly, though it had a few small flaws. The ingredients speak for themselves, without trendy tableware, fussy presentation, or gimmicks. Service was attentive, and they even tried to accommodate kitchen requests that weren’t on the menu. The hotel’s welcome was warm and friendly, and the rooms felt authentic, each with its own character. It’s not easy to find, and the village is sleepy enough to make you wonder how the hotel stays in business. Once inside, though, it makes sense. We’ll definitely be back.

The service and welcome were really friendly, and the trout with almonds was delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed it and would happily come back.
