Appart'City Classic Bourg-en-Bresse

I've stayed here several times over the past few years, for multiple days at a time. It's handy for a quick stop or a longer visit. The staff are always around to help or offer advice, and there's a supermarket just 100 meters away if you need food. Rooms are clean, modern, and spacious, with a kitchen.

The worst part was what happened when we tried to leave. Once we decided to go without even getting a refund, one man picked up a chair and started hitting my husband. Before that, he had been yelling at us and threatening to beat us up while we asked for our money and tried to use the reservation we believed we had. We had booked by phone, been told rooms were available, and money was taken from my card, but when we arrived they said there was no reservation and never returned the money. They claimed there was a booking problem, though they actually had rooms free. The staff were terribly rude. I would never come back or recommend this hotel.

We arrived at 9pm and had to use self check-in, so there was nobody around to ask for a different room. It was a huge disappointment, especially given how pretty the pictures look. The room was dirty, the AC didn't work, the shampoo bottle was empty, the sheets had stains, and the whole place smelled of smoke.

On our trips up and down to the Alps, we always stop at Apart City overnight. It's just right for a young family: separate bedrooms and access to a kitchen and fridge, which we need, and everything works well. Getting in is always easy, parking is good, and it feels safe.
