Résidence Callou by Vy Resort Thermal & Spa

Everything about this residence is great. The welcome was warm, and the staff were pleasant and top-notch. I recommend it.

The room was in pretty poor shape for the price, and they even tried to charge us for it twice. The lack of professionalism and attention to detail showed in several things: an empty sugar packet on the floor, toilet water at the wrong level, a stuck tap, and a broken door lock. For a better review of this hotel, they should offer a better rate.

The breakfast was generous, with plenty of variety, and the staff were really pleasant and helpful. Our room was simple and practical, though the furniture looked a little worn and dated. It was good value, apart from the €12 nightly parking charge.

The large bed and the location were the best parts. We could walk all the way into the city center. The room itself was only so-so for cleanliness: dust behind the bed, furniture that looked hastily repainted, a bathtub drain that wouldn’t clear, and a very yellowed shower curtain. We were surprised on arrival to discover it was actually an Ibis, since nobody had told us. Parking nearby was difficult, the hotel lot cost €9, and the access card only worked about half the time. There was a lot left to be desired.
