The hotel needs a major update. It’s incredibly dated and nothing like any other Ibis Styles I’ve stayed in, though the price did reflect that. For what we paid, it felt fair. We had a lovely breakfast and mainly used the clean, ready room to sleep while we enjoyed Bourg. It’s also well placed for walking into town, and the man at check-in was efficient and helpful.

The room was dirty, the sheets didn’t fit the bed, and the shower was moldy. The air-conditioning wasn’t working properly, so it was too hot to sleep under the quilt. The price doesn’t match this standard at all.

The staff were friendly, but the hotel felt more like a shabby Ibis Budget than an Ibis Styles. Our room was rather dark, with little light coming through the small window facing another building’s walls. The bathroom smelled, and there was no hot water on the first day. Breakfast was budget-style, too.

It’s an old, dated hotel, but there’s plenty to like: very clean rooms, comfortable beds, a good breakfast, and a free secure car park. The staff were very nice. The location is excellent, with an easy five-minute flat walk to the pedestrian area in lovely Bourg-en-Bresse.

The hotel doesn’t look very impressive from outside, but inside the room was clean and comfortable, with everything I needed. I had a single room and the bed was bigger than I expected. The air-conditioning was much appreciated in the hot weather. Breakfast was good, especially the freshly squeezed orange juice, and the coffee was good too. The staff were good and spoke very good English. The room price was okay.
