Lydie is really friendly and makes a hell of a good hamburger, with some of the best fries you can get in France. It’s very good value for money and a nice place if you’re after quiet countryside. We spent a week there with teenagers, though there isn’t much entertainment at the campsite, so you’re better off planning some trips. Reims cathedral, the champagne route, and the beaches are examples, all about a 20-minute drive away.

The yurts at Moulin Bertrand were superb, so I expected another wonderful stay, but this experience was disappointing and I wouldn’t recommend it. The place wasn’t clean enough, and it’s not an experience I’d want to repeat at home. We waited at least 30 minutes for the facilities: there are only two toilets for seven yurts, and they’re next to the showers, so if the showers are in use, the toilets can’t be accessed. There are dry toilets outside too, but unfortunately they were out of order. On arrival, there wasn’t much of a welcome and the reception area wasn’t clearly marked. We also weren’t given any further explanation of the COVID-19 health and safety protocols.

A quiet spot and a truly unusual, enjoyable night in a yurt. Just don’t expect hotel comforts. The owner is friendly and always available. I recommend it for a weekend away!

I had to cancel my reservation because I got the date wrong. I sent the cancellation within the timeframe set out in the contract, and the owners received it. I’m still waiting for my deposit back, and my most recent emails haven’t been answered.

A lovely change of scenery in those beautiful yurts. My 8 and 9-year-old children loved it, and I enjoyed the rivers nearby, which are perfect for walks. A touch of Mongolia in the Aisne region. Thank you 🙏
