Domaine de Cousignac

The most memorable part was how warmly Monsieur Pommier made us feel, even with harvest underway. He was handling parenting, winemaking, and hosting almost by himself over the weekend, yet took time to explain his wines patiently and with real passion. We’ll treasure those hours at his beautiful vineyard. He’s the seventh generation of winemakers there, and the whole stay felt like a true taste of French vineyard hospitality. Our room was lovely, the bed comfortable, and both breakfast and the wine tasting were excellent. We arrived by bike after riding 100km and had booked at the last minute through booking.com, since the winery’s website wasn’t taking reservations at the time. The place looked deserted at first, and with it being Sunday and wine-making season, we worried it might be closed. Then the sweetest grandma greeted us. She didn’t speak English, but connected us with her son, the proprietor. We’d absolutely come back.
