Apartment Les Glières

There are normally different apartments available to rent throughout the year. The location is good, with easy parking and a fantastic summer swimming pool. It's a five-minute walk to Lidl and ten minutes into town, where there are lots of restaurants. Getting to the funicular takes about ten minutes in ski boots, and is even easier in snowboard boots.

It's a well-kept development of a moderate size, with a private car park and swimming pool. Many apartments are privately owned and occupied, while others are rented as holiday accommodation through different sites. The setting and views are stunning. It's also close to the railway station and the funicular station, which gives access to one of the world's largest linked ski areas.

We'd paid in full, but the host was rude and unhelpful and still wouldn't let us into the flat. We hadn't noticed the small-print requirement for a 150 euro cash deposit, and we didn't have cash with us. The host wouldn't wait while we went to get some, so we had to book another place for the night. We couldn't get a refund.

The accommodation was basic, though handy for the train station and funicular. My place hadn't been cleaned before I moved in, which made for a disappointing first impression.
