We were furious, exhausted, and out of pocket after having to sleep in our car in a motorway services car park. We’d booked and paid through Expedia, but the patron said rudely that he was shut and hated Expedia, and told us to leave. We’d booked on the move around 9pm and arrived about 45 minutes later. The hotel was dark, with music booming inside. After a lot of calling out, the patron came to reception drunk and in disheveled pyjamas. Really odd.

The owner, Phillipe, was warm and welcoming, and it was a very pleasant experience meeting him. He even went out of his way to arrange breakfast for us at 6AM the next morning, which is rare for a hotel. We stayed one night. The location is quite accessible, the rooms are nice and neat, and the bathrooms are well maintained. This experience makes me want to choose local French hotels over hotel chains. Strongly recommend this stay.

We got good value for a night after tasting wine at the vineyards, and the hotel gave us a friendly welcome and helpful tips for visiting them. It’s a charming little hotel in the heart of Bourgueil, just steps from the shops.

We booked at the last minute and were greeted so warmly. Dinner was just for us, and breakfast was truly generous. I wish we could find this kind of attentive service in more establishments. Thank you.

We decided to cancel, so thankfully we never stayed at this hotel. About two weeks before our stay, the manager left us a bizarre phone message. He criticized us for booking through a central reservation system and kept saying we had to be nice to him because he was a very nice person. Then the message got increasingly vulgar and insulting. I think he wasn’t entirely in his right mind.
