La Ferme de Genarville

We slept really well in the comfortable beds, and the rooms had their own showers and toilets. Sébastien welcomed us warmly to his farm out in the countryside. The owner made us an excellent meal, and breakfast was generous too.

The room was simple, and the place was quiet. We got a warm welcome and were glad to have a night in the gîte before getting back on the road.

The room itself was clean, but there were smells in the bathroom that the air freshener only covered up. Hygiene in the dining room was deplorable. Breakfast was served after 6 p.m., the juice had flies in it, and there were lots of opened jars of Nutella. The waits between courses were long, there was shouting in the kitchen, and a mouse wandered along a beam.

A child around ten greeted us, served breakfast, and even took our payment. I never saw the owners once. There weren’t any toilet paper or bath towels in the rooms, and the extra beds I’d been told about the day before were nowhere to be seen. The rooms had a very unpleasant smell from the macerator toilets, and the ventilation shutter was faulty.
