The restaurant is a real highlight, with delicious, nicely presented food made mostly with organic and/or locally sourced products. It's worth booking a table, too, for the good selection of wines, beers and other drinks. This family-run hotel is friendly and comfortable, and surprisingly quiet for its location. The rooms were clean and well equipped. Highly recommended.

We were shown to our rooms on arrival. They were two rooms on one floor, which gave us a nice bit of privacy, and the staff were friendly and easy to approach. The location is an easy walk from a lovely town full of riverside shops and places to eat.

The restaurant food was amazing, and everyone on staff was so friendly and nice. The owner heard me say I wanted to try crème brûlée and brought one over. That was so kind, and it's the best crème brûlée I've ever had so far. A great place to get a feel for French culture.

We had a lovely, quiet day and evening here, and the staff couldn't have been more helpful or friendly. The room was a very good standard, and dinner and breakfast were both well served and enjoyable. The only pity was the storm at 1800 hrs.

The weak wireless signal in my room was the one downside. Otherwise, I really liked my stay: the people were very friendly, and the hotel is close to everything that matters in Brantome. It's an older building, so if you're coming from the US, expect the rooms to be smaller.
