We mostly enjoyed the stay, especially sitting outside in the evening with the excellent cheese and wine we’d picked up at the local supermarket. The place was clean and well kept, and our host was lovely. We felt bad that we didn’t speak enough French to communicate properly, but she showed us around and pointed out what we needed to know. Our apartment was huge, though getting up to it meant climbing a rather precarious staircase to the first floor. The bedroom was just a curtain around the double bed, so we were effectively all in one room. That didn’t bother us much, but it could be a problem for some, and the booking information hadn’t made it clear. We were there for two nights for a friend’s wedding.

Really clean, and a great room to stay in.

We stayed for three nights and found it peaceful, while still close to the main roads. The garden, with its two oak trees, is a lovely place to unwind, and the apartment is spacious. We got such a warm welcome, and even the little town is charming. Go for it!

We came for three nights for a wedding and were welcomed so kindly. The apartment has plenty of space, a very comfortable large bed, and a separate bedroom with two single beds. It’s clean, charming, and has everything needed to cook. The bathroom is spacious, and the windows look out over countryside that was still green. Upstairs, the bright landing has books, games, rattan chairs, and other things that gave it the feel of a family holiday home. There’s a park-like garden where you can read beneath the two magnificent oak trees, or sit in front of the house once the shade has moved there. The place is simply charming, tastefully arranged, and that’s praise, not a complaint. Dominique was discreet and available, and the stay felt trusting and easy. The Bourd de Breal is well worth seeing, and very pleasant.

The setting is peaceful, and the owner was very friendly and accommodating. It’s a charming place, but it’s a shame the bed is in the main room with the kitchen. The apartment is upstairs, without direct access to the garden.
