Camping de la Trye

Our kids each had a highlight: our son loved the go-karts, pool and waterslide, while our daughter especially enjoyed the pony rides. It was all good value, and the facilities and accommodation were great. The campsite was beautiful and very clean, and the hosts ran everything so well and were excellent. We had a really enjoyable stay. Thanks for a great time.

The town has great restaurants and Boulangeries, and the site itself is lovely, with a covered pool, snacks and a clean, tidy toilet block where loo roll is provided. But there’s no quiet time. Vehicles were moving around all night, and children were still playing after 11pm. The owners don’t ask people to keep noise down after 10pm, so it’s fine if you need a quick morning getaway, but hopeless if you want a good night’s sleep. Overnight vans are parked right beside the children’s play area, the gate and toilet block. It might be quieter if you find a pitch farther away. I thought this would be on my must-go-back list, but now I’m not so sure.

The staff were super friendly and worked really hard. We had a lovely little mobile home, what we call a static caravan in the UK, and it was very clean. The location was great too. We also had chicken and chips with salad for 12 euros, a very nice meal and a big portion. I’ll definitely stay again as a stopover for the ferry from Calais.

We were cycling south and wanted to avoid Paris, and this was a lovely spot to stop. Everything was clean and well kept. We were just camping, but there was a huge choice of places to stay, from tipis and wigwams to cottages, so there seemed to be something for everyone. Recommended.
