Belvédère Hôtel

The room was decent and the views were tremendous, but the outside of the hotel is in a sorry state, with vandalised lights and a damaged porch ceiling. Getting luggage up the steps to the main entrance was difficult. There’s no bar, restaurant, or nearby place to eat. You can take a useful bus from the main road into Brest, or follow a lovely cliff path to the lighthouse.

I picked this hotel as a good base for travelling along the coast, since I didn't want to stay in Brest itself. It’s quiet, parking is free, and the view across the bay is lovely. My room was huge, with a really large comfortable bed and a very nice modern bathroom. The rate was good too. I skipped the 12€ breakfast, though after seeing it briefly, I think it’s worth the price. A good congress hotel, if a little old-fashioned.

The room was spotless, roomy, and had a good view. We were at the eastern end of the hotel, while the western side would have had superb views of the peninsula. We got a very friendly welcome when we arrived. The only drawback was how run-down the outside of the building looked.

There’s nowhere to eat or drink at the hotel, so bring supplies with you. Breakfast, on the other hand, was good, and the staff were friendly. Our first impression wasn’t great, and the location isn’t ideal, though we did find a coastal path nearby that led to a beach.
