Camping La Route Blanche

Another really good Capfun spot, with a great bistro and restaurant right there. Just remember to reserve a table if you plan to eat.

The location is great, and if your kids are around eight, make sure to visit domaine la carperie. But the rental bikes are much too small for anyone of a fairly normal height. I'm 1,85 and my wife is 1,78, and neither of us should have rented one. There isn't much private space, since the mobile homes sit around shared grounds, often with children's play equipment in the middle. Kids passing through and playing weren't an issue for me, but the adults who came along could be. I also wanted better kitchen equipment, since what we had was rubbish, and the water slides need refitting because they hurt. Kids should be allowed to be kids. French guests seemed to get more leeway than others, and the entertainment could be better.

They kept our €195 cleaning deposit over a few ridiculous things their cleaner supposedly found. Those issues would have taken minutes to put right, but they showed no interest in fairness or customer service. It felt like they just wanted to get as much money from us as possible. We’ve stayed at Captain before, but we won't give them another penny. Avoid at all costs.

It makes me sad to feel that Germans aren't really welcome here. I thought our generation had grown much closer together, and that nationality shouldn't matter anymore. I had hoped for better. It's a real shame.
