La Poiriere

The homemade yogurt was VERY GOOD, but breakfast otherwise let us down: the bread wasn't fresh, the croissants were warm but seemed to have come straight from the freezer, and there was just a small pat of butter. We had booked three nights and left the morning after our first night. The welcome had started well, then we found the stairs hadn't been vacuumed. Dust was everywhere in the room, the windows and skylight looked long overdue for cleaning, brown streaks marked the skylight and its handle, and the toilet wasn't properly clean. The place wasn't clean at all. Don't waste your money here 😡

The bathroom was particularly disappointing: the toilet and tiles were filthy, and the 80x80 cm shower tray had no curtain. Cleaning elsewhere was poor too. The bed was mediocre, the pillows smelled old, and the room had no ventilation. We never got the promised welcome drink. At breakfast there was only frozen bread, not fresh, though the croissants were good.

After hundreds of kilometers on the road, we reached our destination and discovered that our reservation had not been honored. This was despite a positive confirmation by phone, given after the three-day legal cancellation period. We had no warning that another group had been given preference. Shameful and outrageous. Be wary of this guesthouse and avoid it.

The place itself is nice, and the host is friendly, which makes the state of our two-bed room a real shame. It was very dirty and very old. Breakfast was poor too: not much butter, bad bread and croissants, and a jam jar that was already half empty.
