Hôtel La Réserve de Brive

We felt safe walking around, and there was plenty of shopping and dining close by. The hotel is right by the old town, with good parking. Our room was basic but fine, the linens were clean, and the small bathroom worked well. The whole place was very clean.

Breakfast had loads of choice, from granola, fruit salad, yogurt and boiled eggs to jams, butter, meat, cheese, coffee and fresh-squeezed orange juice. The breads, croissants, cake and pain au chocolats (chocolotines) were especially fresh. It’s an easy walk from the train station and into town for shops, and our clean room had a very comfortable bed. I’ll stay again!

The staff were the best part of our stay. They were so helpful, recommending restaurants and printing directions for the next leg of my trip when my sat Nav wasn’t working. Breakfast was delicious, with fresh-squeezed orange juice and homemade jam. The rooms are simple but welcoming, and I’d definitely come back.

The breakfast was great, and the people were welcoming. It’s also handy for the town center. The hotel has been renovated and is simple, but I couldn’t get enough airflow in the room, which gave me a headache and made for a bad night’s sleep. There was no desk light either, so working at night was difficult.
